Do you find yourself wishing for a different kind of Christmas this year? One with less stress and excess and more peace and goodwill?
After a break to…well, get my life in order, including sending my youngest to school, repainting over 1/2 of our house and (bordering on manic) de-cluttering, I am back with a plan for December. A real, written down, full of ideas, plan. A plan aimed at adding to the joy of the festivities rather than the stress of it.
And, I want to share that plan with you, to inspire you with quick, easy and low-stress ways to capture the essence of the season of good cheer.

Mindful Christmas inspiration
If you’re feeling festive fatigue, have fixed an intention to side-step the stress or just feel like doing it a little differently this year, then join me each day between now and Christmas Eve for some mindful merrymaking inspiration.
Christmas is, without doubt, my favourite time of the year. I love the traditions, the merrymaking and the decorating (especially if those decorations include glitter and white lights) and I believe in the magic of Christmas. I hope that that feeling never leaves me.
As a child of the 1980’s, I’m accustomed to Christmases of excess but, as I grow older (and the purse strings having shortened), I find myself thinking about what really matters at Christmas.
It’s not the presents, the food or the Prosecco.
What makes Christmas for me, is time spent with those that I love. Shared experiences with family, friends and community.
That’s where the magic is.
My, Fabonista’s Calm Christmas Countdown focusses on kindness – to ourselves and each other and includes creative, reflective and community focussed ideas to help you create your own Christmas with a difference.
I will be posting on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well as challenging myself to get that YouTube thing happening (properly!) and you can join in in each of those places too – simply click the links below.
I will post a blog at 8 pm every day right here, so keep checking back. Or, even better, subscribe to receive those little festive nuggets direct to your inbox.
Now, before we get going, take ten minutes to do something just for you. Yoga, meditation, a few pages from your favourite book, a chat with a good friend, whatever helps you feel balanced.
Do it now.
And, if you can’t find 10 minutes well, make it five. Hit that pause button, the world can wait.
It’s yoga for me & I’ll see you tomorrow with a cuppa and a slice of Christmas Calm.
Wishing you a Mindful Little Christmas
